Museum Camen Thyssen

The Carmen Thyssen Museum Andorra is located on the ground floor of the Old Hostal Valira.

Pere Espuga, in charge of the rehabilitation of Hostal Valira, has had in his hands the task of shaping a room that is on the ground floor of one of the most emblematic buildings of the parish of Escaldes-Engordany.

Behind a granite façade opens a wide and diaphanous space destined for the exhibition of works of art. Space has been one of the aspects that has been necessary to work with care and flexibility.

Access to the museum should be unique, but without damaging or competing with the expressive identity of the historic building. The metallic porch that invites us is projected and gives a sufficient scale to a very narrow lateral access and does not touch or damage the stone façade.

Geometry is another point of reference in the whole of this room; A clean and geometric pattern in all aspects has been respected to the maximum.
